Endorsement: “My Choice of Bibles… The ESV”

Pastor Scott at the Faith Untamed blog talks about why he switched to the ESV:

The church group I’m affiliated with is largely a King James Only group. All of the pastors of our affliate churches in my region use the KJV and I’m the only one who made the move to change. Why did I do it?…

Because our church is so new, the switch wasn’t a big deal with most of our folks…. [W]hen they compared the ESV to the KJV, they saw that this was a text that they could trust.

The ESV’s historical continuity with the King James is indeed one of the main reasons we see it as a Bible that the entire English-speaking church can use–its rich heritage lends it dignity and beauty.

Update July 13, 2005: Scott’s blog has moved; unfortunately, his original post is no longer with us.
