Scripturizer Plugin “Remix”

Laurence O. has released a WordPress plugin that automatically links to and displays passages from the ESV when you mention a Bible reference on your blog.

In some ways it’s similar to Chris Roberts’s plugin that we talked about a couple of weeks ago. The new plugin doesn’t require you to use markup to indicate Bible references, however.

The plugin has four main features:

  • Automatic linking of Bible references and displaying of passages.
  • Extensive administrative options. You can control how passages will appear directly from Administration panel—edit both CSS and web service options.
  • “Two-click” installation.
  • An optional show/hide link for passages. (Example–click the [+/-] link near the top of the page.)

  3. A few months ago, Rebecca wrote us and asked how to cite the ESV in blog posts. You can find the official answer on the ESV Copyright page (also in printed ESVs). A blog falls under the “non-saleable media” clause.
