Pastor Chris at VI College Ministry recently recommended a process for memorizing Colossians. He has ten practical tips to help you start (and finish) memorizing.
He recommends photocopying and laminating Colossians so you have something to carry around with you. Then read the book twice to get the big picture and memorize by paragraphs rather than by verses. (And that only covers half the tips.)
The post is one in a four-part series that talks about how memorizing Scripture has helped his spiritual life, lists five benefits for memorizing, and provides some general principles to help you memorize large portions of Scripture.
Update: Coincidentally, Desiring God just published an article by John Piper titled Why Memorize Scripture?. It lists six reasons to memorize Bible passages. (Via.)
