Microsoft Word Original Languages Plugin

InsertBible is a free plugin that lets you insert the text of the ESV into Microsoft Word documents alongside the original Greek and Hebrew. It gives you a lot of formatting options:

The InsertBible toolbar lets you insert the text from several versions of the Bible.

The output looks like:

A table shows the ESV, Hebrew, transliterated Hebrew, Septuagint, and Vulgate for Genesis 1:1.

The only catch is that you have to mail or fax a declaration to CCAT at the University of Pennsylvania (who makes the original languages available) before you can use the plugin. CCAT requires this step of anyone wanting to use their version of the text.

It’s a useful plugin if you often work with the original biblical languages—for example, if you’re in seminary. Learn more about InsertBible.

  3. MS Word Bible Widget: ESV blog reports on a cool free plugin for word that inserts the original language into a word doc. Since I start Biblical Hebrew in January at Gordon Conwell, this will be a cool tool. I’m sure I’ll turn up more

  4. Over at the ESV Blog, they have a post on this seemingly useful tool for all of us who dabble in the original languages (some more than others). At any rate, here is the link for the Microsoft Word Original Languages Plugin.

  5. So many good articles on-line in the last few days, I am going to blogspot again. Adrian Warnock with the help of Paul Schafer complies CJ Mahaney’s sermons. Justin Taylor from Between Two Worlds writes:
