Jonathan Aiken will be receiving the 2008 John C. Pollock Biography Award for John Newton: From Disgrace to Amazing Grace on March 12, 2009. The Pollock Award was established in 2001 by Samford University’s Beeson Divinity School to honor the life and contributions of John C. Pollock, an Englishman who has written more than 30 books, mostly Christian biographies.
Aitken was a Member of Parliament for twenty-three years, serving in the Cabinet as Chief Secretary to the Treasury and also as Minister of State for Defense. He is president of Christian Solidarity Worldwide, a director of Prison Fellowship International, and executive director of The Trinity Forum in Europe.
