Everything is a matter of interpretation—or at least that what postmodernism says. Whether in the classroom or on our favorite TV show, we are taught that meaning is found in the perspective of the one interpreting it.
Without careful interpretation, you can make the Bible say almost anything. The Bible actually says, “there is no God.” (Psalm 14:1; 53:1). Jehovah’s Witnesses and Mormons claim the Bible to be the authority, they merely interpret it differently. Paul commands readers to rightly handle the word of truth (2 Timothy 2:15) and Peter explains how misunderstanding the word can be devastating (2 Peter 3:16).
