Reaching Prisoners with the Gospel

Inmates have a lot of time on their hands—time to read.  For this reason, Crossway is excited to partner with Prison Book Project, a ministry dedicated to introducing prisoners to the saving grace of Christ.

Crossway provides free reading materials to be sent out to inmates all across the nation. These books and Bibles can reach dozens of individuals in a given prison, and with millions of Americans currently incarcerated, these life-giving resources have the potential to bless untold numbers of inmates. Not only are prisoners’ lives being changed directly by this ministry, the lives of those around them are being affected as well.

  1. Thanks for sharing about this project! Crossway also indirectly benefits the prison ministry I’m privileged to be a part of in the Chicagoland area; a Crossway employee at my church supplies me with Bibles I give to any attendees at our weekly Bible study group who don’t have Bibles of their own. Thanks so much!

  2. Great! I have a similar ministry. I send the (Christian) books I review to inmate pen pals who then share the books with other inmates or donate them to the prison chapel library. Inmates really do enjoy reading material, and I’ve seen inmates come to Christ and grow in their faith due to my book ministry combined with pen pal correspondence to answer their questions.

So I think it’s great that Prison Book Project has the same idea and that you’re supporting them with books. :)

  3. Hullo, friends weldone for the great work you are doing, I have prison ministry that we are involved in with my friends, we do share Gods word with them, and we ecourage them to do sports and we participate together some time, sports does alot with the inmates, however the inmates, we share with have alot of interest in raeding and our challenge we lack the tracts or an kind of literature for them to raed like bibles for the team readers.

So I would kindly request if there is an opportunity to get some of the metioned above it will be of great ecouragement with the ministry.

May God bless you for the good work you are doing.
