A New Way to Spend the Year in God’s Word

We came across a Bible reading plan that looks different enough to deserve its very own post. What sets it apart?

  • You only read half of the Bible in a year, meditating on some chapters for up to five days in a row.
  • The reading plan incorporates articles from the ESV Study Bible.

Thanks to John Rinehart for creating the plan. Be encouraged by the rationale in his blog interview with Fred Sanders or download the plan here.

  1. This is excellent — we’ve done something similar two years ago, but not nearly as thorough and ordered. Instead, We simply started in Genesis, Job and Matthew and read those in parallel. This year we’re going through the New Testament seven times — http://tinyurl.com/NT2011 — over facebook. This allows for daily reminders and discussion. God Bless!

  2. So what about the other half of the Bible. Do you do that in the second year? And is their a plan made up for that?

  3. I think this is the first year he’s trying this, so we’ll have to see if he creates one next year.
