I recently read that Evangelicals are the most frequent highlighters of books for the Amazon Kindle platform. I’m proud to announce that Crossway’s flagship ESV Bible and ESV Study Bible are also the most highlighted Bible and Study Bible on the Kindle. (View the complete list of Amazon’s Top 50 highlighted books.) We thank you for your enthusiastic use and support of the ESV and the ESV Study Bible and we trust that God is using his Word to strengthen your ministry at church, home, and work!
If you have a Kindle and haven’t yet used the highlight feature, it is, in my opinion, one of the most valuable features of the platform as it allows you to aggregate in one place all the highlights and notes that you’ve ever made.
You can then cut and paste into various documents for future reference. Or you can cull your highlights and notes and create a completely individualized summary of the best parts of any book you’ve read on a Kindle device or Kindle app. Would you like to share that quote or note? Publish it with ease to your Facebook wall or Twitter feed. Want to access a particular quote in the book? You can tag it using something like Springpad or Google Docs or another storage tool, and access the quote easily for a sermon, Sunday School lesson, or simply for future reference. Would you like to see what others highlighted in the book? You can access that information as well from the same page.
I’m passionate about utilizing technology that helps me do more effectively the things that I am already doing. The Kindle platform is one excellent way I can read and share the things God is teaching me through books and God’s Word.
What software, e-reader, or note-taking system do you use for organizing your notes, highlights, and quotes from various books?

How do you know if you’re called to plant or pastor a church? Crossway hosted a Church Planting Panel at The Gospel Coalition back in April 2011. Dave Harvey shares some thoughts on calling.
Highlight: At 6:58 he brings up some “diagnostic” questions he’d ask a potential church planter or pastor:
