ESV Study Bible on Trackback Thursday

9781433502415We’re excited to feature the ESV Study Bible on Trackback Thursday! Please read on as we’re doing things a bit differently this week. On October 15, 2008, Crossway launched the ESV Study Bible to help people understand the timeless truth of God’s Word in a deeper way. Now, one year later we invite you to join us in reflecting on the past and looking into the future.

We will be giving away a new ESV Study Bible every day through Wednesday 11/11/09. You can enter the contest on the blog, at the Crossway Facebook Page, or on Twitter @Crosswaybooks (using hashtag #ESVSB) by doing any of the following:

1. We would like to see facebook, twitter, and the blog turn into a place to worship and thank God together. We encourage commenters to share how God has been faithful, good, loving, worthy of praise, gracious, just…(or share verses about his attributes).

Africa for Jesus

Back to the Bible Training College equips pastors to bring the gospel to Africa. They describe their vision simply as “Africa for Jesus”. At present, their students are from 14 different countries across the continent; their goal is to be training pastors from all 52.

Through their ministry, 106 students and staff members in Barberton, South Africa recently received a new ESV Study Bible.

Here is a video that briefly highlights the vision of Back to the Bible and shows footage from the Training College as they distributed the ESV Study Bible and other resources:

The ESV Online Study Bible

For those who haven’t yet tried the ESV Online Study Bible, here’s an excellent preview and tutorial. We first linked to this in March. Jacob Abshire shows how the online component can add more to your study experience with functions such as highlighting, copy/paste, extensive space for personalized notes, and the ability to print notes and Scripture into a document format.

Reformation Study Bible App for iPhone and iPod Touch

Ligonier Ministries has released the Reformation Study Bible for the iPhone and iPod Touch, giving readers access to more than 20,000 study notes, book introductions with outlines, theological essays, and the text of the ESV Bible. It includes keyword and phrase searching, highlights for verses, and the ability to add notes and save work online for easy access. This app can be purchased now through iTunes for the introductory price of $11.99 for a limited time.
