WHEATON, IL (July 27, 2009)—Since the overwhelmingly positive response to the Share the Good News of Christmas campaign at the International Christian Retail Show, Crossway has been back at work creating and refining the tools retailers need to effectively sell the Share the Good News of Christmas gift bags to churches in their area. “There are already a number of downloadable resources as well as creative ideas for contacting and selling to churches on the Share the Good News of Christmas section of CBA’s website,” said Amy Stephansen, Crossway’s Marketing Manager. “And since the Show, we’ve been working on adding to, and improving those resources based on retailer feedback.”
According to Stephansen, retailers at the show liked the mock-up of the point-of-purchase countertop display, appreciating that it holds a sample bag, which helps the customer visualize how the bags come together and can be used. Based on retailer feedback, Crossway has made some minor changes to the point-of-purchase display kit, which will ship out to stores in late August. Some stores plan to create an end-cap display by placing the countertop display on top of stacked cases of Share the Good News of Christmas kits, which are sold in case quantities of fifty.
Crossway is also preparing to distribute DVD copies of a 2-minute Max Lucado promotional video to any stores who request it. The video is also available for download at CBA’s website.
“One question retailers asked us about the program while we were at ICRS was, ‘How will my store benefit from the 30 Days of free access to the ESV Online Study Bible?’” said Stephansen. “And the answer is that we are creating a special landing page for those who access the ESV Online Study Bible online that will point users to their local Christian retailer to purchase a print version of the ESV Study Bible. In addition, we encourage retailers to put their store stamp on the card offering the 30-day free access or even add a flyer with a special offer for the ESV Study Bible in the bags they sell to churches.
