Chris Harrison at Carnegie Mellon has produced several spectacular visualizations using Bible data.
First, he created a visualization of cross references in the Bible, showing off the many interconnections between chapters in the Bible. Credit goes to Christoph Römhild for the cross-reference data.
Second, he developed a social-network diagram that reflects co-occurrences of names in Bible verses. Though he doesn’t disambiguate between different people with the same name, it’s still fascinating to look at.
Third, he made a visual distribution graph of names in the Bible.
