We’ve missed a great opportunity if we walk away from the Bible or a good book with nothing more than additional head knowledge. Crossway is committed to publishing biblically sound, gospel-centered resources that apply the truth of God’s Word to all of life. Crossway’s Blog Review Program likewise encourages you and your readers apply the truth of God’s Word to your everyday life.
Currently, Crossway’s Blog Review Program is only open to active bloggers. Anyone can apply if they’ve been blogging consistently for at least 6 months and have at least 50 followers or subscribers.
How long will it take for my profile to be approved?
We try to approve new profiles within 1–2 days, but approval may take up to 1 week.
How many titles can I review?
Reviewers may request up to 2 titles per month and a total of 12 titles per year. Reviewers must submit direct links to their previous review on their blog and at least one consumer site before requesting a new product. For more information, read How It Works.
What titles are available for review?
Review all of the Available Products for a mix of forthcoming book and Bible titles, as well as new releases and best sellers. We update this list periodically.
I don’t see any titles that interest me. Can I request a specific book or Bible that isn’t currently listed on the Available Products page?
The Available Products page lists all the titles that are currently available for review. If you don’t see something that interests you, please check back at a later date, or feel free to send us suggestions via blogreviewprogram@crossway.org.
Why was my Bible request denied?
Because we send print copies of Bibles to our blog reviewers, limited quantities may prevent us from accommodating every request to review a Bible product. Your request may also be denied if you are located outside the United States. If your request is denied, this will not count against your review total for the month or year, and you are free to select another available title.
Which Ebook formats are available?
We currently offer Ebooks in .mobi, .epub, and .pdf formats. For prerelease books, only .pdfs will be available.
I like physical books. Why do you only offer Ebooks?
That’s a valid question, and we certainly love physical books as well. However, we found that over 85% of participants in our previous blog review program had a digital reader. By going digital-only for our book products, Crossway is now able to extend the program to our international readers and direct even more resources toward other important ministry initiatives. (Note: Bibles are offered in print to allow for more interaction with the product.)
Can I share my Ebooks with others?
No. This is an illegal use of intellectual property and a necessary restriction for keeping Crossway’s Blog Review Program alive and well.
Do you have any tips for writing a compelling book review?
We certainly hope not! However, reviewers could be disqualified from the program for one of four reasons: (1) using divisive, slanderous, or questionable language that is not honoring to God or useful for the edification of others; (2) illegally sharing Ebooks received through Crossway’s Blog Review program; (3) not posting a review for over 6 months; (4) not posting substantial reviews that meet our minimum requirements.
What would be considered an inadequate review?
Reviews that simply summarize the product or that only offer generic feedback that does not interact with the content (e.g., “I thought the book was cool.”) would be considered inadequate. See our “How to Write a Compelling Review” page for some helpful tips.
