Full Text

You may want something really special this Christmas. There are three gifts that you won’t find under your tree, but will transform your life forever. They will be the most treasured of all the gifts you’ve ever received—Hope, Peace, and Love.

The Gift of Hope

For most of us, hope is a possibility or luck. We just “hope” things will work out for the best. But real hope isn’t dependent on chance, our condition, or our feelings. Hope is unshakable—steadfast on the brightest of days, secure in stormiest of nights. The Bible says hope is anchored in God:

Yes, my soul, find rest in God; my hope comes from him. Truly he is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will not be shaken (Psalm 62:5–6).

Real hope is God’s gift to stabilize our hearts and lives.

The Gift of Peace

Every person, every day, in every corner of the globe, longs for lasting peace. And few find it. We want less worry and more security, less turbulence and more tranquility, good health and family harmony.

The Bible tells us that peace really isn’t in the things we have, in our status in life, or in our circumstances. Peace is in someone who is greater than we are, who loves us unconditionally, and who will provide everything we need. Peace begins with prayer:

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:6–7).

The Gift of Love

Love is the greatest power on earth. It changes lives, communities, even countries. And, our hunger for love is so strong that we will do just about anything for it, because we want to be cherished, valued, and desired. But when we discover God’s love for us, we won’t be desperate for the love of others.

The Bible says,

“This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him” (1 John 4:9).

Love can’t be earned or bought, because love is a gift from God—the greatest gift of all and it came at a price.

Jesus, God’s one and only Son, paid the price for our sins when He died on the cross. Three days later He rose from the dead so that we might receive forgiveness for our sins and the gift of eternal life.

The Bible says,

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life” (John 3:16).

This Christmas will you receive the wonderful gifts of hope, peace, and love by placing your trust in Jesus Christ as your Savior?
