Free PDF eBook with Purchase

When you buy certain books directly from us through this website, we will send you free eBook versions (PDFs) of these books before your order ships.

For example, when you buy God Is the Gospel directly from us, you will get an email from us containing a link to a PDF of the complete book for you to download. You can then peruse the book while you wait a few days for the physical copy you ordered to arrive.

You must meet the following two conditions to receive a free eBook:

  1. You must ship the book to an address in the U.S. or Canada.
  2. You must pay only with a credit card online, not a personal check, credit card by phone or fax, or with your Crossway account.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are the eBooks restricted in any way?

No. You can print and copy text like you can with most PDFs. However, we do stamp each page of the eBook with your order number and a copyright notice.

Once I’ve placed my order, how do I get my eBook?

You will receive an email containing a link to your eBook, usually within half an hour of placing your order. The link expires after seven days, so you should save the PDF to your computer if you want to read it after that.

What if I pre-order a book and an eBook later becomes available for it?

You will receive the eBook if we have not yet shipped your order. We generally expect to create eBooks about a month before the scheduled publication date.

What if the book is out of stock when I order it?

You will get your eBook right away. We will ship you a physical copy of the book when it becomes available.

Do I get an eBook if I buy from a retailer such as Amazon.com?

Unfortunately, no. This program only applies to purchases directly from us through this website.

How do you decide which books participate in the program?

Most of our books published since late 2003 have eBooks available, and we expect to make most of our upcoming titles available as well. Certain types of books, such as picture books and reference works, do not lend themselves well to the eBook format. We do not plan to make eBooks for such books.

How do I know which books have eBooks?

Here is a list of all the books currently in the program. Pages for participating books display the following button. Your shopping cart will also indicate whether an eBook is available for a particular book.

Can I share my eBook with a friend?

The eBook is protected by copyright laws, just like the printed version of the book. You may not make multiple copies of the eBook to share them or post them online, just like you may not photocopy and pass around the printed version.

Do you plan to sell eBooks without selling a printed version at the same time?

We currently do not plan to do so. However, if we find that demand warrants it, we may consider it.

Will you be giving away eBooks of the ESV Bible?

We do not expect any ESV Bibles to participate in this program.

What does the watermark look like?

We add text to the bottom of each page with your order number, how many copies you’ve bought, and a copyright message. It shouldn’t interfere with your reading the book. Here’s a sample page illustrating how the watermark looks:
