About Animal Alphabet

God has created all kinds of wonderful creatures--some silly, some slithery, some hairy, some HUGE! And this delightful book celebrates them all in a way that kids will find easy to remember: by highlighting His amazing animals, the letters of the alphabet, and simple verses from His Word--from A to Z.

The many members of God's animal kingdom presented in this fun-filled book show His handiwork in a playful way while motivating kids to learn their ABCs and the Scripture verses that are included. Young children will get a kick out of this colorful celebration of God's creation, done as only popular musician Mary Rice Hopkins and illustrator Wendy Francisco can do it.

A Message to Parents

When it comes to God's creation, one of my favorite Psalms says it best: "Oh, Lord, what a VARIETY you have made! And in wisdom you have made them all! The earth is full of your riches" (Psalm 104:24).

As a mother of two, I am always looking for new ways to teach my children while exploring God's vast creation. In this book we've interwoven God's Word with a variety of His creatures and the lyrics to the Animal Alphabet song. Interestingly enough, the idea for the song came while I was with my stylist Chuck Ingolia at the hair salon. Isn't God full of fun surprises?

It has been a joy to work again with my good friend Wendy Francisco, whose artwork and talent I am so grateful for. Just like in Hip, Hip, Hip Hippopotamus she has hidden things in some of the illustrations--in this case, other items that start with the same letter. For example, can you find the apple on the same page with the anteater?

I'm sure that you and your children will enjoy exploring the animals that Wendy has so beautifully illustrated on these pages and that God has so wonderfully created.
