How do I place an order?

What credit cards do you accept?

How do I bill my order to our church account?

If you are a church with an existing Crossway account, you can choose this option during checkout. The minimum charge order (before shipping and taxes) is $10.00. Churches that have not ordered from us before must pre-pay with either a credit card or a check.

How do I cancel my order?

To change or cancel an order that has not yet shipped, call 1-800-543-1659 from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm U. S. Central Time (GMT -0600). Be sure to mention that you ordered from the website and have your order number ready. Because we try to ship items as soon as possible after ordering, you should contact us as soon as you know you want to change or cancel your order.

What should I do if products disappear from my cart?

If products are disappearing from your cart, it may be a problem with your browser's cookies, a technology we use to keep track of your shopping cart. Please make sure you have your browser set to accept cookies.

Do you ship products internationally?

If you are ordering from outside the United States, you are welcome to order from Shipping to countries outside of North America can be expensive; we encourage you to look closely at our shipping rates. What are your international shipping rates?

The shipping rate for international orders is calculated based on the weight of the item(s) in the order. You may choose either First Class Mail International or Priority Mail International for those countries where it is available. Orders are shipped via the U. S. Is my online transaction secure? Is my credit card number safe?

Crossway abides by industry-wide best practices for web security. We treat customer credit card information with great care. All communication of credit card information is encrypted, and card information is stored using asymmetric encryption techniques—the keys to decrypt the card information are stored on Crossway's secure, firewalled servers, separate from the card information itself. Furthermore, we never store CVV codes—they are used to authorize the transaction, then discarded. These are best practices in the industry, and we follow them extremely carefully.

What mobile apps are available?

We currently offer two mobile apps:

  • ESV Bible for iPad and iPhone: This free app features the complete ESV biblical text, full access to the ESV Global Study Bible, integrated reading plans, personal notes, an in-app store, and more.
  • ESV Bible for Android: This free app features the complete ESV biblical text.

You offer "web apps" for sale on your website. Are those the same thing as mobile apps?

Web apps are not the same thing as mobile apps. Web apps comprise study and devotional content for use with your free account. Mobile apps are for specific devices (smartphones, tablets, etc.) that must be purchased through the App Store (for iPhone and iPad) or the Google Play Store (for Android devices). While you can certainly use on your mobile device (via a mobile browser like Safari or Google Chrome), the web apps are not the same as mobile apps downloaded directly to your mobile device.

Do your mobile apps sync with

The ESV Bible app for iPhone and iPad syncs with your free account. Our Android app does not yet support syncing at this time, but we're working hard to integrate this functionality into a future update.

How do I log in to my account?

After creating an account, you can log in by going to and clicking the account icon on the top right-hand corner of the page. You will be redirected to, our unified login page for all of your Crossway accounts. Once logged in, you can easily navigate back to

When will I receive an activation email after creating an account?

How do I update the email address associated with my account?

How do I activate an study resource via an access code?

To register an access code, go to To enable any study content that you have access to—such as the ESV Study Bible Notes and Resources—click on the "apps" icon at the top of the page. You will see a list of all the content currently available to your account. If you've already purchased a particular app, simply click the relevant app icon to enable it.

How do I copy & paste the Bible text?

To copy and paste, simply use your cursor to select the desired text. You will have two options: "copy" and "detail." Click on copy and a pop-up window will appear on the screen. At the top of this pop-up window, you can toggle advanced copy and paste options, such as verse numbers, cross references, etc. After selecting the desired options, simply right click on the desired text and click copy. You can then paste the text into another document.

Why are certain verses not included in the ESV text?

The translators of the ESV decided not to include a very small number of verses that can be found in some older translations. These translations have included passages that the majority of English translations (including the ESV) do not consider original. These texts are not included in the ESV because, in the judgment of the ESV translators, the most reliable Greek manuscripts did not include them. Learn more about the ESV translation philosophy.

How do I search within my personal notes?

After enabling the "My Notes" app from the apps menu, select the option to "View all My Notes." From there, enter your search query in the search bar titled "Search My Notes."

Can I download the ESV audio? only allows users to stream the ESV audio via their web browser. If you would like to download a complete audio reading of the ESV, you will need to purchase the audio files here.

What if I lost my study content access code?

Email us at Be sure to include the ISBN of the Bible you ordered. If your account has lost access to an app you previously registered and you no longer have your access code, be sure to include your account name and the app name you're missing.

How do I adjust my account settings?

Account preferences and other settings can be adjusted by clicking on the Account icon in the upper right hand corner of the page. From there, click on Settings. From here you can change:

  1. Display Options
  2. Text Size
  3. Display Theme

What browsers can I use? supports all major browsers, including Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Internet Explorer. To ensure the best experience possible, make sure your browser and computer's operating system are up to date. If you experience any difficulty loading apps, viewing content, or highlighting text, please do the following:

  • Set as "allowed" in any ad or script blocking plugins, as well as any internet security plugins.
  • Clear your browser cache, delete all cookies, and try reloading the current page.
  • Make sure you have JavaScript enabled.

Does purchasing an app give me access to the mobile app as well?

No. While we offer account syncing between and our mobile apps, you will need to purchase the products separately. Unlocking access to any of our online study content (e.g., ESV Study Bible) does not include free access to that study content via our mobile apps.

Will Crossway e-books work on my e-reading device (e.g., Kindle, etc.)?

Yes, the corresponding format will work on virtually all e-reading devices currently available.

What file should I download for my device?

For Kindle devices and apps, download the MOBI version of the e-book. For other e-reading devices, download the ePUB version. Finally, we also offer a PDF version of each e-book, however this should only be used as a last resort as e-readers typically do not support as many reading features for PDFs as for other formats.

How do I get the e-book onto my device?

For mobile/tablet devices, access your Virtual Bookshelf via your mobile browser, select the appropriate file format from the bookshelf to download the file to your device, and then open the file with your preferred e-reading app.

For Kindle eInk Devices, download the file from your Virtual Bookshelf onto your computer. Plug your device into your computer, a drive folder will appear on your desktop. Drag the e-book file into the "Documents" folder of your device. You can also add an ebook to your Kindle eInk device by emailing it to your Kindle email address (see instructions here).

Can I read Crossway e-books on my computer?

Yes. There are many desktop e-reading apps that will allow you to read e-books on your computer.

Will my e-book notes and highlights sync to the cloud (i.e., via Amazon, Apple, etc.)?

It depends. For Kindle users, if you email the file to your Kindle email address, the file will be saved to your Amazon account and will sync across devices and apps. Alternatively, you can use Amazon's free Send to Kindle tool. Note: syncing is not available with e-books added to your Kindle device in any other way.

For iBooks users, as long as the e-book has been downloaded to all of your Apple devices, syncing should occur from within the app.

Do Crossway e-books have DRM (digital rights management) protection?

No, our e-books do not have DRM protection. Crossway e-books are for personal use only, but can be read on an unlimited number of devices.
