The Choice Is Yours
The most important choice you will ever make will be whether or not to believe the good news I’m about to share with you. It will determine your eternal future and where you will spend eternity.
While many people are religious and most people believe that God exists, few seem to understand the good news of the Bible. That message in a nutshell is that God loves us and has proven it beyond question. The Bible says, “God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”1 This was necessary because “all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”2 When Jesus Christ, God’s Son, died on the cross, he shed his blood to pay the price for all our sin. Three days later God raised Christ from the dead, proof that God was satisfied with the sacrifice of his Son on our behalf.
The Bible now says to all, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved.”3 God offers you the gift of eternal life, forgiveness of your sins, and the certainty of going to heaven. Your part is to admit to God that you are a sinner and that you cannot save yourself. Then believe in your heart that Christ died for you and receive him by faith as your personal Savior from your sins.
Don't let pride keep you from God, but instead come to him just as you are. The Lord Jesus said, “Whoever comes to me I will never cast out.”4
God has made every provision so that you can know him and become his child. When you admit your need of forgiveness and choose to receive Christ by faith, you will experience being born again and will be brand-new from the inside out. God's Word says, “To all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.”5
If this message of good news makes sense to you, why not take God at his word and receive Jesus Christ by faith into your life? Not to choose Christ is your decision, but by doing so a person is saying “No!” to God. Why not make the right choice by inviting Christ into your life now?
You could pray to God with words like these:
“O God, I know I have sinned against you and have disobeyed you in many ways. But I also know that you sent Jesus to bear the punishment for my sins on the cross. I now turn from my sin and ask Jesus Christ to be my Savior and to forgive me for all my sins. Amen.”
The choice is yours!
