Hebrews 11: A 5-Day Devotional

This article is part of the ESV.org Reading Plans series.
Things Unseen
Hebrews 11 is often referred to as the “hall of faith”—recounting the stories of faith-filled men and women throughout biblical history whom God commended for believing what they could not yet see.
In ESV Expository Commentary: Hebrews–Revelation: Volume 12, Dennis E. Johnson writes:
Faith focuses on God’s promise for the future, perseveres, gives God pleasure, and wins his verdict that the one who lives by faith is “righteous.” By faith believers gain access to realities that cannot be seen. Faith moves people to take appropriate action in response to God’s word.
