Annie Henry can't fight for her country, but she'll find other ways to help--with ideas that only the fearless daughter of an American patriot would think of!

Sixteen-year-old Annie, daughter of patriot Patrick Henry, has nearly grown up. And with the Revolutionary War in its fifth year, it seems like she and the war have been together forever! Even now her brothers are off fighting and her father is serving in the legislature to try to ensure American victory over the British.

Annie would love to do more for her country, but as a teenaged girl she has to settle for helping her mother take care of the house--and all the children who are stretching it to the limits. Then one of Annie's uncles dies, and Annie's mother sends her to Richmond to be with her aunt.

There Annie sees the war upclose as the Redcoats invade the city, led by the traitor, Benedict Arnold. And an idea comes to her--a way to be more involved! All she'll have to do is take a little trip to Yorktown, where the American army is battling the British. What she doesn't know is that on this trip, she will witness another historic moment--one that will set the course for a nation.

In the fourth and final book in the Adventures of the American Revolution series, Susan Olasky gives 8- to 12-year-olds an exciting look at life in the colonies during the time of America's War of Independence.
