Janice could just see the tabloid headlines: "Football Star Weds Small-Town Waitress." The crowd, the bodyguards, and last night's ride in the team owner's limousine all contrasted with her life in Colorado, reminding her of who she was and where she came from. It frightened her to think about entering such a different world.

For ten years Janice and her son Billy called rural Colorado home.

For ten years they barely got by on her waitress's salary.

And for ten years they managed to hide from the man she wanted to forget.

But everything has changed. Janice and Billy went to Los Angeles to visit her ex-husband, pro quarterback Bill "Buck" Mason, and he not only wanted them to stay, but asked her to marry him again! And she said yes!

Their married life, though, is a whirlwind of adjustments and conflicting expectations--emotionally, spiritually, and financially. Not only is Bill's lifestyle vastly different, but everything about L.A. feels strange.

It's all new to Janice, but whether it's better she's not so sure. Especially since it seems like the harder they try to work out their problems, the worse things get. Was it a mistake to think they could ever be a family again?
