They're not just a summer basketball squad--they're a lean, clean, adventure-finding team!

The Lewis & Clark Squad was not prepared for what their teammate Cody encountered in the canyon that day: an injured Chad Levine, his truck and money stolen.

Who would do such a thing? Could the unknown visitor who's come to town be to blame?

Cody and his friends don't begin to put the pieces together until the entire Lewis & Clark Squad spend the night at Chad's house. Through his telescope they see suspicious people down by the river. They're even more sure that something's up when they hear a terrible noise--again, coming from the river.

At that point, the kids come up with a plan for identifying the strangers. All they'll need is the telescope, a rusty can of nails, and . . . a goat! But the truth is, if that creative idea doesn't work, they could end up in the middle of something big. And something scary.
