God says in his book, the Bible, that you—and all the rest of us in the human race—have sinned against him!

“All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned—every one—to his own way ….All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” Isaiah 53:6, Romans 3:23

It also says that the penalty for your sin is death—separation from God forever.

“It is appointed for man to die once, and after that comes judgment….So then each of us shall give an account of himself to God.” Hebrews 9:27, Romans 14:12

Understand God’s provision

Realize that Christ loves you so much that he died on the cross to pay the penalty for your sins.

“He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree…. God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” 1 Peter 2:24, Romans 5:8

Be convinced that God only forgives our sins and gives us eternal life when we accept Jesus’ death in our place.

“Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life.” Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” John 3:36, 14:6

“The wages of sin is death [eternal separation from God], but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”  Romans 6:23

Decide based on God’s Word

Ÿ  My sin is a fact: I agree with God that I’m a sinner.

Ÿ  My sin’s penalty is spiritual death—separation from God forever in hell.

Ÿ  My sin's penalty has already been paid by Christ when he died for me on the cross,

    then rose again.

Ÿ  My salvation is possible only if I accept by faith what Christ did for me.

Are you ready to trust completely in God’s Son, Jesus, as your only Savior from sin and its consequences? Then God wants to apply Christ’s “payment” to your account so you can be forgiven and receive the gift of eternal life. Believing in Jesus is the only way to get to heaven! Jesus said, “In My Father’s house [heaven] are many rooms….I go to prepare a place for you…that where I am you may be also” (John 14:2-3).
