Our Union with Christ Saves Us from Having a Dull Testimony
Resurrection Isn’t Boring
I know what people mean when they say they have a dull or boring testimony. I’ve probably said the same thing myself. However, I want to push back on that because the truth is that a dull or boring testimony is an oxymoron. There is no such thing. Usually, what people mean is they’re thinking of someone else’s story they heard that was very obviously dramatic. It was someone who was living in flagrant rebellion against God and was dramatically and drastically pulled out of it into a whole new life. And we praise God for stories like that.
But then they maybe look at their own testimony, and it begins in a Christian home, and there are some struggles here and there, maybe a rededication to Christ, but they’ve been following after him ever since.

Imagine Lazarus telling his story. No one’s bored to hear that he was dead and he came back to life. And every Christian has that testimony. Remembering this will help us really soak in the goodness and the magnitude of God’s grace to us. We didn’t need any less saving than anyone else. We were dead, but we’ve become alive in Christ Jesus.
