Simply Read: Day 7

Sent by the Spirit

It's day 7 of Simply Read, an 8-day Bible reading challenge adapted from ESV Reader’s Bible, Six-Volume Set aimed at helping us set aside time—prolonged time—to immerse ourselves in God’s Word as we enter this holiday season.

Today, we follow the journey of a recently transformed Paul as he, filled with the Spirit, boldly preaches the word of God to the Gentiles. He eventually parts ways with his fellow laborer Barnabus, and they each continue onto different places with the gospel.

Eventually Paul lands himself in jail, and bears witness to the jailer after a miraculous event one night. Following the Lord's leading, Paul continues on, declaring Christ and his resurrection. Though encouraged by the growth of new believers, he is continually met with resistance from others. Even after he lands in jail again, his work is not finished . . .
