Redefining Beauty from a Biblical Perspective

Becoming Like Jesus

The world will tell us that beauty is to be found within ourselves—what we look like, what we can accomplish, and who we are becoming in that sense. But we have a different story.

The Bible tells us a different story: that our beauty is rooted in who God is and in us being made in God’s image. We see at the fall of man that that image was incredibly marred by sin. And yet Jesus has come to restore our beauty and our relationship to God.

What Makes You Beautiful

Kristen Wetherell

This devotional, written for girls ages 9–12, explores the theme of beauty to help young readers appreciate the beauty of God, and in turn, become more beautiful themselves.

So Scripture tells us a different story, and it’s a story that culminates in the glory of God and the glorification of his people. We are not people who are against beauty by any means. We are people who are after the fullness of beauty, which is the glory and the beauty of our Lord Jesus Christ. And one day our eyes will see him, and when we see him, we will become like him.
